About The VA250 Car Project
The VA250 Car Project is a Virginia-based motorsports and engineering initiative created to help commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States of America. (See VA250)
At its core, the project celebrates American ingenuity—bringing together heritage, technology, and storytelling to show what is still possible when engineering excellence meets bold vision.

The centerpiece is a purpose-built land-speed vehicle designed and constructed in Martinsville, Virginia. In March 2026, the team will attempt a land-speed record on the same historic grounds that once launched Apollo 11 and carried humanity beyond Earth.
This is not simply a race.
It is a statement.
A statement about craftsmanship.
A statement about innovation.
A statement about America—then and now.
Supported by historic commissions and visionary partners, the VA250 Car Project unites engineering, education, tourism, and national storytelling into a single, powerful moment—one designed to inspire audiences across the country and remind us that American excellence is not just history, but a living legacy.
